Havana, 1948.
A travel house begins.
In a quieter, more elegant century, John and Luisa Guiteras opened the doors of Lorraine Travel in Havana, Cuba. Air travel was still a rite of passage. A transatlantic crossing was a season. And a travel agent was the trusted figure who stood between a family and the world — booking by hand, by telephone, and by name.
From the very first itinerary, the Guiteras family set a standard that has never changed: the traveler comes first. Not the airline. Not the hotel. Not the cruise line. The traveler.
Chapter Two · 1960
From Havana to Coral Gables.
In 1960 the family relocated to the United States, settling in Coral Gables, Florida, and re-incorporating Lorraine Travel as a Florida company. The offices changed; the standard did not.
Over the decades that followed, Lorraine Travel grew into one of the largest privately owned travel management companies in Florida — quietly serving Miami’s leading families, executives, and households. Generations of travelers, returning year after year, journey after journey.
Chapter Three · Today
A luxury house for the modern traveler.
Today, Lorraine Travel carries significant resources in both corporate travel management and personal vacation travel planning — supported by senior advisors with personal access to the finest hotels, cruise lines, and destination experts in the world.

1948
Lorraine Travel founded by John and Luisa Guiteras in Havana, Cuba.
1960
The Guiteras family relocates to the United States. Lorraine Travel is re-incorporated in Coral Gables, Florida.
1970s
Lorraine becomes one of South Florida’s most respected travel houses, serving leading Miami families and corporate clients.
1990s
Joins Signature Travel Network and ASTA; becomes one of the largest privately owned travel companies in Florida.
2000s
Pioneers online corporate travel booking while preserving the firm’s high-touch advisor model.
2010s
Launches WhataHotel! — the firm’s luxury hotel division — and earns Four Seasons Preferred Partner status.
